Contents Mobile Restoration (CMR LLC) of Fort Mill, SC performed a contents pack-out and storage for a 26-year-old tenant displaced by water damage in May 2026. The tenant did not choose or contact CMR. She was told insurance would cover the cost. It did not. What follows is the primary source record — every contract, invoice, recording, photograph, and email — presented so you can judge for yourself.

What this site is

This is a consumer documentation site. It exists to present the documented record of a single disputed restoration billing case — nothing more. Every claim on these pages is tied to a primary source you can read, view, or listen to yourself.

The job was a partial move-out of one bedroom and a closet from a one-bedroom apartment. CMR ultimately charged $4,886.25 on a Xactimate estimate. Along the way the price more than doubled for the same work, dozens of billed boxes arrived empty or nearly empty, and identity documents — including a U.S. passport — were held for weeks. We asked CMR to explain the charges. The answers, and the absence of them, are documented here in full.

During an in-person meeting on June 12, 2026, with a witness present, the owner was told the higher $4,886 figure was simply "personal." He did not deny it. The recording is on this site.
